Minimum Computer Requirements

These are the minimum recommended requirements for successful computing in the CAED.  A faster processor, higher end video card, and an SSD hard drive will all speed up your computer.  3D graphics and rendering intensive applications will perform better with higher specifications.  For your reference we provided links to some of the commonly used software throughout the CAED and their computer specifications.

Intel Core i7 (9th or 10th gen) or AMD processor
512GB SSD storage
16GB RAM
Graphics Card 4 GB memory (see below for higher end graphics card specs)

Giving to the CAED

Students in the ARCH 241 - Architectural Technology Fundamentals class display their custom-designed and handmade bricks. With the support of WRNS Architects in San Francisco, the class traveled to Pacific Clay in Lake Elsinore to make the bricks, after firing, they were shipped up to Cal Poly.
